Occupational Therapy Housing Adaptations

We can assist you to make informed decisions and choose appropriate solutions to adapt your home.  We can will act in an advisory capacity for you between builders, suppliers and your local housing authority to seek Disabled Facilities Grant funding if eligible to assist in adapting your home.

Provide an assessment for individuals with regards to the suitability of existing stairlifts, vertical lifts, or hoists when replacement is necessary due to  a breakdown, or replacement is deemed necessary where the existing amenity is beyond repair.

To provide advice on the suitability of existing adaptations within a potential property being offered to a client with disabilities by a housing provider, or if you are thinking of purchasing  the property yourself and want to ensure the property can be adapted to meet your assessed and desired needs.

To liaise with, and advise, NHS Occupational Therapists on matters relating to adaptations/ housing issues necessary for discharge.

To develop and maintain a network of contacts and relationships with other relevant bodies which have a core objective of meeting the clients housing needs through the most efficient, effective and economic means available. This could include agencies such as Care & Repair and the local housing authority.
